Natoya Ewers, 31, a Jamaican national died over the wekend after a violent altercation with a man that left her with multiple chop wounds about her body, at her home in Gemwick, St Philip.
According witnesses, the assailant kissed Ewers and said " I love you', then drank what was suspected to be chemical and ran away.
A man is being sought by the police in connection with the murder.
