Georgetown: Information circulated that there were two factions of nominees running for the PPP presidential candidate position, the pro Jagdeo and anti Jagdeo contenders. Ralph Ramkarran was touted as being anti Jagdeo, while Donald Ramotar operated under the President's shadow. Sources close to the party claims that the President was grooming Ramotar to continue after him when he demit office later this year. However, when grilled by members of the press, the presidential candidate dispelled such remarks claiming that he will choose his own path if elected as President. It is said that the President has intentions for Ramotar to complete several projects under his watch which include the Low Carbon Development Strategy, the One Laptop Per Family Project, Amaila Falls Hydro Electric Project and the laying of a fibre-optic cable from Brazil.
