Georgetown- Amidst a packed gathering at state house Donald Ramotar was just sworn in as the 7th executive president of the republic of Guyana. Ramotar took the oath of office before Chief Justice Carl Singh. In his first statement as President Donald Ramotar said that he will endeavour to be a just and fair president for all. He added that the election results reflects the will of the people and that Guyana and its citizens have won. Ramotar made it clear that he will work tirelessly to improve the lives of all Guyanese. He expressed his profound gratitude to the outgoing president Bharrat Jagdeo, who he said is the youngest and longest serving president so far. Bharrat he added has given exemplary service to the people of this country and the nation is indebted to him.
