Georgetown : This morning Dr. Balwant Singh’s Hospital announced its state -of-the-Art high field Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) machine.
Dr. Mahendra Samal speaking with members of the media at the hospital said the new generation 1.5 Telsa MRI offers excellent images of any part of the body. The scanning machine can produce images of the entire spine, entire head, neck and the whole body. It can also be assessed image formats for evaluation of cancers, poly trauma or scanning any serious illness.
Dr. Samal pointed out that Guyana was lacking of such a machine which is most important in making final diagnosis of many brain, spine, soft tissue and bone conditions. Even if the treatment was available in the country, people were forced to go overseas to get tests done at a far higher cost.
