Berbice : Sacked Georgetown Hospital doctor Vishwamintra Persaud was today remanded to prison after appearing at the Blairmont Magistrate’s Court, Berbice for allegedly having sex with a minor, a charge he denied.
Dr. Persaud was arrested Wednesday last on allegations of having sex with a 13 year old girl on two occasions.
The doctor was represented by attorney at law Joel Persid-Edmond and will appear in court on August 3rd, 2011.
The American trained doctor lost his license to practice in the USA in 2008 for a similar charge.
