East Bank Demerara : The police are investigating a fatal accident that occurred on the Grove Public Road, East Bank Demerara, which resulted in the death of motor cyclist Rodwell Mercurius of Friendship, EBD.
According to the police Rodwell Mercurius who was driving his motor cycle was struck down by motor car PFF 1671 which was proceeding in the opposite direction. He was taken to the Diamond Diagnostic Centre where he was pronounced dead.
The driver of the motor car was tested with the use of the breathalyzer and was found to be over the legal limit in terms of alcohol consumption. He is in police custody assisting with the investigations.
