The five men charged in connection with a major drug bust at a house in Sunset Crest, St. James, were remanded to HMP Prison at Dodds, when they appeared before Magistrate Barbara Cooke-Alleyne in the Holetown Court yesterday.
Daranand Outar, 32, an operations manager aboard the MV Caricom, of East Bank, Essequibo; Andrew Mclennon ,30 a truck driver, of Georgetown;Surain Persaud, 44, a labourer, of West Bank Demerara, all of Guyana, along with Barbadian Ryan Howell, 38 a security guard of Black Rock, St. Michael, were not required to plead to possession of 42.8 kilograms of cocaine, possession with intent to supply and trafficking in the drug on March 31.
Barbadian Michael Forde 32, of Road View, St. Peter, was not required to plead to trafficking in the drugs and knowingly permitting the handing of a controlled drug at a premises, on the same date.
The men, who were represented by lawyers,Andrew Pilgrim, Alan Carter and Kristin Edwards were remanded until April 26 when they will reappear in the Holetown Magistrates's Court.
