Members of the Drug Squad of the Royal Barbados Police in a joint operation with the enforcement unit of the Barbados Customs and Excise Department and the Coast Guard last night arrested eight crew members of a cargo vessel on which drugs were found.
The law enforcement officials conducted a search of the vessel and found 107 packages of cannabis weighing just over a hundred kilograms, 20.6 kilograms of cocaine and one submachine pistol were also found and seized.
The boat was sailing from Guyana and arrived in Barbados around 8.20 last night.
