Drug Enforcement Commanders Conference in St. Kitts

British Virgin Islands: International and regional Drug Enforcement Commanders and other top law enforcement officials are in St. Kitts for the Preliminary International Drug Enforcement Commanders Conference, the BVInews.com reported.

The Pre-IDEC began yesterday with an opening ceremony at the St. Kitts Marriott Resort, where Prime Minister and Minister responsible for the armed forces, Dr. Denzil Douglas, delivered the feature address.

In keeping with this year’s theme, “Working together against Transnational Organized Crime in the Caribbean”, delegates to the conference discussed measures aimed at countering the traffic of illicit drugs in the region, the BVInews.com reported.

This conference, slated to culminate March 30, comes as a precursor to the IDEC to be held in Indonesia, June 7-15, 2012.
