The Klebsiella pneumoniae bacteria is back at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital (QEH).
Last April, several wards at the island lone public hospital were close after the drug resisting bacteria was discovered there..
At that time officials said there had been an increase in the number of Klebsiella bacteria cases affecting the Martindales Road facility for the last 18 months and that they had put several measures in place to stop the spread of these infections.
Officials told the media that the situation so seriously that they had turned to the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO) for assistance and that body responded by sending in a team to the island.
Yesterday officials comfirmed that strains of the bacteria was found at the hospital but declined to say how many wards or patients were affected.
