Drugs intercepted at port

Bridgetown.

The Drug Squad of the Royal Barbados Police and officials from the Customs Department  discovered a    shipment of drugs worth at the Bridgetown Port yesterday.

Police Public Relations Officer Inspector David Welch, told Trakker News lawmen and customs officers  searched  a container with personal effects, which originated in Canada and shipped through Jamaica had taped packages of cannabis, weighing 664.68 pounds and valued at $2.6 million pounds among them.

Last week 38 pounds of marijuana was found in a container with two racing cars transported from Jamaica to participate in a racing meet last weekend.
