Georgetown: Businessman Amir Ally, 30, 0f Goed Fortuin West Bank Demerara (WBD) and truck driver, Baldeo Persaud, 32, of Leonora, West Coast Demerara were found guilty on Monday of trafficking the cocaine on February 6, 2014.
The ruling was handed down by Magistrate Leron Daly at the Georgetown Magistrate’s Court.
The duo was sentenced to four years imprisonment and fined $25M each for shipping 20 pounds of cocaine in frozen fish at the Cheddi Jagan International Airport (CJIA) on February,6, 2018.
Ally was the shipper and Persaud was the canter truck driver who transported boxes with cocaine stuffed frozen fish to the cargo shed at the airport.
