Dyal back on the job

Bridgetown.

Veteran newsman Arnon Dyal is back in charge of the newsroom of the state run Caribbean Broadcasting Corporation (CBC).

General Secretary of the Barbados Workers Union (BWU) Sir Roy Trotman  issued a statement last night after  a two hour meeting with managment of the CBC, announcing that Dyal had been returned to the post of acting director of news and current affairs with immediate effect.

On Monday, staff at the CBC staged a work stoppage after they found out that dyal had been removed from the position which held since September and replaced by Michelle Arthur his junior and news editor in charge of assigment.

Sir Roy said CBC had acknowledged that there was no basis for the cessation of Mr Dyal's acting appointment and decided to re-established him to the post.
