Georgetown : The ministry of education will be hosting remedial classes for students who would have performed unsatisfactorily at the end of term examination.
The ministry initialized the programme in an effort to reduce the number of repeaters in schools. Beginning last year, the programme seeks to improve students’ performance level by preparing them for the next school year’s curriculum.
During the August holiday, students across the country at the primary level in Grades 2, 3, 4, and 6, and Grades 7 and 8 at the secondary levels will benefit from six weeks of classes in Mathematics and English.
Classes will comprise 15 students with one teacher, allowing each student the opportunity to receive individual attention.
The ministry will provide participating schools with the necessary learning materials.
