Essequibo : Police ranks, Guyana Defense Force Coast Guards and infantry troops along with Air corps personnel this morning are continuing their search for eight persons now missing in the Mazaruni boat crash yesterday.
Last evening, police ranks at the Bartica Station confirmed that they found one body, identified as Jermaine Calistro, reportedly of West Coast Demerara.arouind 10pm, the search was called off for the night.
Yesterday at around 12:30pm, two boats, one carrying 12 persons and the other nine, collided in the vicinity of Crab Falls, 25 miles upstream from Bartica. Several of those involved in the accident were treated at the Bartica Hospital for injuries.
Two Brazilians are said to have been among the missing.
