Antigua : An elderly woman has been found dead in her bed at home. The body of Islin “Sister” James is believed to have lain undiscovered for two days.
She was found by neighbours in Sutherlands shortly after 1 pm when, concerned that they hadn’t seen her for sometime, they went to investigate her disappearance.
“People had not seen her for about three days but at first it didn’t surprise anyone that the house was locked down because she usually lock up inside. But then there was a funny smell and people went to check and found her dead in her bed,” a witness said.
Based on the level of decomposition, the resident said James might have been dead for about two days.
Sources said police are probing the circumstances surrounding the death of the Dominican born woman who was reportedly 64 years old.
James’ body was taken to Barnes funeral home.
