Georgetown : Head of the Public Education and Awareness Unit of the Ethnic Relations Commission (ERC) Yolanda Ward says the ERC continues to execute its work programme and as such, all the departments continue to function.
She pointed out that persons wishing to make complaints can call the Legal and Investigative Unit or come in to the Office in Queenstown.
The Media and Campaign/Rallies Monitoring Unit, continues to function with in-house monitors and another 60 monitors deployed nationwide.
The ERC statement comes a week after leader of the opposition Robert Corbin serve a court order restraining the ERC chairman, Bishop Juan Edghill and Commissioner John Willems from taking any decision, making any recommendation and or issuing any direction in the name of the commission. Corbin has called the ERC an unconstitutional body.
