Bridgetown.
Keisa Brathwaite who is illegally occupying a National Housing Corporation (NHC) house at Barbarees Hill, St Michael, has been served with an eviction notice.
The notice gives Brathwaite three days to leave the house ,the 21 year old woman who is seven months pregreant and who also has two sons aged three and four, says she has nowwhere else to go and will not leave the house.
Yesterday Minister of Housing and Lands Michael Lashley, made it clear that the NHC could not condone Brathwaite's illegal actions and would be taking action against her shortly.
"If i leave i will be out in the street with my children, I want people to know that this did no happen just so. In 2008 when i was living in an old house in Chapman Street, Mr Lashley visited me and promised that Government would assist me as a matter of urgency, at that time I was pregnant with my second child", Brathwaite said.
"I have been calling Mr Lashley since then and going to the NHC and all I have been getting is the runaround", she added.
