Ex murder accused suiting AG and DPP

Bridgetown.

A man who was accused of murdering a woman is suiting the Attorney General for falsely imprisoning him, the Director of Public Prsecutions for not speedily bringing him to trial and a doctor for falsely misrepresenting himself as  an expert.

Frank Errol Gibson of Gall Hill, St John,  had been at the centre of an 11-year battle in every court up to the Caribbean Court of Justice, after he was originally charged with the 2002 murder of Francine Bolden, formerly of Pot House, St John.

In November last year his matter came to an abrupt end, after several  civil battles, when the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) admitted he was “compelled” to drop the case.

The DPP cited “serious concerns” about the evidence of the Crown’s lead witness and said his evidence had been contradicted by an expert in a similar field.
