Ten ex workers of Haagen-Dazs Cafe are calling on Minister of Labour Dr Esther Byer-Suckoo to investigate why their fired from the ice cream parlour and to probe into the operations of the company.
According to Carmeta Hazell-Jordan one of the ex workers documents pertaining to their conditions of work that never reached the Labour Department.
"We had issued at Haagen Dazs long before last week. The issues relate to payroll and the general treatment of workers. We not only had late payments rom time to time but they paid us when they felt like", Jordan told Trakker News.
Jordan said the lawyer for the Trinidadian owned company has promised to meet with the former workers this afternoon and and pay them their severance, vacation and notice pay.
"It will be a relief if this happen", says Jordan.
The popular ice cream parlour suddenly stop its operation at Lanterns Mall, Hasting, Christ Church, last week.
