Berbice : Today jeweller Nalanatie Manshar, Ricardo Tulsi and Hemraj Mahaseall of Letter Kenny, Corentyne, were in Manshar’s motor car when they stopped at a pedestrian crossing at Tain Public Road, Corentyne, Berbice.
Two men, one of whom was armed with a handgun, approached the vehicle and told the occupants to exit the car.
As Ricardo Tulsi got out of the vehicle, Nalanatie Manshar drove away causing the armed man to discharge a round which struck Hemraj Mahase to his left shoulder. The perpetrators then escaped on foot.
Hemraj Mahase was treated at the Port Mourant Hospital.
