East Bank Demerara : Investigations are being conducted into an armed robbery that occurred at about 10:15 am today at Golden Grove, East Bank Demerara, where Donette Atwell, 26 years; Pauline Peters, 49 years; and Roxanne Crawford, 22 years, were attacked and robbed by five men armed with handguns.
The men entered the premises under the pretext that they were there to read the electrical meter and held the three victims at gunpoint.
The perpetrators then tied them up with duct tape and ransacked the building and took away $10,000.00 US, $80,000.00 (GC), a cell phone and a quantity of jewellery and escaped in a motor vehicle.
