Joseph Moore a Guyanese farmer was deported from Barbados yesterday.
Two years ago Moore had his work permit cancelled after he had indicated to the Immigration Department that he was returning to Guyana.
Moore appeared in the Bridgetown Traffic Court yesterday charged with unlawfully and maliciously wounding Seretse Elias on February 19.
An enforcement officer with the Immigration told the Court that Moore arrived in Barbados in April 2008, and was granted a work permit which expired in October 2008.
He applied to renew the permit but was refused in June 2009 after he indicated to the company for which he worked that he was returning home.
Moore did not return home or seek to regularise his status, yesterday he pleaded guilty to unlawfully and maliciously wounding Elias.
Magistrate Manila Renee convicted, reprimanded and discharged Moore and handed him over to the immigration officals.
