The police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of farmer Alvis Matthews, 45 years of Kariako Village, Moruka, North West District, which occurred at Karaiko.
According to a police report, Alvis Matthews, his son and another man were in a boat preparing to go hunting when a round was discharged from an improvised shotgun that was in the son’s possession.
Alvis Matthews was hit to his back and subsequently succumbed to his injuries.
The suspect has been arrested and the improvised shotgun seized by the police.
