Farmer murdered in Caparo

Caparo: Police are probing the brual murder of farmer Terry Bahal and the chopping of his wife, Christine in what they believe was the end result of a home invasion.

Around 9:30pm, according to police, the couple was accosted as they made their way into their Todd's Road, Caparo home, after returning from the Macoya market where they sold their goods.

One of the suspects was armed with a gun and the other a cutlass. Bahal was chopped and then shot three times as he tried to rescue his 36-year-old wife. Christine was chopped about the head and arms.

The incident occured in front of the couple's 15-year-old son who ran and locked himself in the house to escape the attack. Bahal died while being treated at the Chaguanas Health Facility.

Police are now hunting for two suspects.
