Fatal accidents on the road continued to be a major concern for members of the Police Forces in the Eastern Caribbean , says Assistant Superintendent Bruce Rowe of the Royal Barbados Police Force.
Speaking at the collision ceremony for the Collision Investigation Course Level Two, Rowe said road safety was a key factor in public health and injury prevention.
He caution police officers against driving recclessly on road: "We owe a duty of care to the travelling public when we are responding to calls for service in line of duty," Rowe said.
Rowe said the course was important as lawmen continued to have vehicular collision findings questioned by lawyers and insurance companies requesting reviews.
Eighty policemen from Trinidad and Tobago, St Vincent and the Grenadines,Antigua and Barbuda, Angullia and Barbados, particpated in the course held at the Regional Police Training Centre.
