Feedback from stakeholders is important for success of the biodiversity centre -PM tells stakeholders during conference

Georgetown : Prime Minister Samuel Hinds who is performing the duties of President today, attended a biodiversity conference which is aimed at developing a conceptual framework for the International Centre for Biodiversity Research and Low Carbon Development, which will be developed at the University of Guyana, Turkeyen Campus.

The three-day conference which is being held  at the Guyana International Conference Centre (GICC), Liliendaal addressed several issues including attractive investment proposals from various stakeholders, since financing is important and, research, especially on the LCDS and its prospects.  

  Mr. Hinds in addressing the participants said that while the development of a feasibility study for the centre is necessary, advice and feedback from stakeholders and international experts are also important, in ensuring the success of the institution.

The establishment of the centre is in support of national efforts to implement the LCDS strategy, which sets out a framework by which the country will attract financing for the sustainable utilization of its forest resources.
