Fifteen point plan presented by Leader of the Opposition

Leader of the Opposition Owen Arthur, has a fifteen point plan to improve governance in Barbados by 2016 if he is elected Prime Minister in the next General Elections.

Delivering the feature address at the 74th Annual Conference of the Barbados Labour Party (BLP)  held at the Queen's Park Steel Shed yesterday, Arthur listed devestment of the state run Caribbean Broadcasting Corporation, reform of the court system, a new tax rate for middle income earners and an ease in land tax among the new strategies his party  will implement if elected of office.

 Arthur said under his plan, allowances would be tax free and VAT will reverted back to 15 percent  and a  reversal of the engergy pricing and taxation policies of the current Government.

Former Minister of State in the Ministrty of Finance Clyde Mascoll received  the party's highest honour  the Grantley Adams Award during the conference.
