Westmoorings: Finance Minister Winston Dookeran has told the Trinidad and Tobago Chamber of Industry and Commerce that the government faced a huge challenge in trying to increase its revenue without imposing new taxes or increasing taxes.
Speaking at the Chamber's annual post budget analysis Minister Dookeran sought to explain the budget deficit of $7.6 billion.
He explained this was essential in keeping with the plan of stabalizing the nation's finances.
Meantime Chamber President Andrew Sabga says while there are several good initiatives in the budget. The Chamber says it remains concerned about government's failure to meet some of the commitments it made in the last budget.
