Germaine Alleyne was rescued by firemen yesterday morning from the deep waterway of a gully at Rock Dundo, St James, after he fell and was trapped in the narrow gorge for several hours.
Cheryl Headley who lives near to the gully told the press , she heard the cry for help around 9 a.m.
"I heard the call for help and on going nearer, I realized that someone was in the gully and needed help.I answered the person and told them that I will call for help. I called the Fire Service and informed them that a man was trapped in Rock Dundo Gully which is called Kellman Gully", Headley told reporters.
Firemen, using a stretcher and a rope pulled Alleyne to safety .He received injuries to his right foot and lacerations to his face and was taken to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital by ambulance.
