Parika : The Police are conducting investigations into two armed robberies that occurred in the Tuschen Housing Scheme, East Bank Essequibo, today and which are believed to have been carried out by the same two men.
At about 4:15am today two men armed with a handgun and a knife entered the home of Michelle Boyer, 39 years, and held her up along with two other family members. They took away jewellery, two cell phones, a bicycle and a pair of boots and escaped.
Then at about 6:45am today two men armed with a handgun and a knife entered the premises of Gracie Ghanie, 31 years, and held her up while she was outside washing clothes. The perpetrators took her into the house which they ransacked and took away jewellery, four cell phones, $15,000.00GC, and $25.00US and escaped.
Five men have been arrested and are in police custody assisting with the investigations.
