The Ministry of Culture is posting letters to the owners of historic buildings within historic Bridgetown and its Garrison and its Garrison indicating if their properties are listed as historic sites.
Minister of Culture Stephen Lashley told Trakker News, the Barbados World Heritage Committee will be making a appeal to those owners to join the efforts to preserve those sites.in
Lashley acknowledge that the maintenance of the buildings will be costly , he noted the Cultural Industries Development Bill has within it a number of tax incentives which will provide building owners with assistance in their preservation and restorative effotrts.
