Former Human Services Minister Shaddick to head Broadcast Authority board

 

Georgetown: Cabinet has approved the governing board of the Guyana National Broadcast Authority, subsequent to the commencement order identifying that the Broadcast Act of 2011 has come into force. This was disclosed by Cabinet Secretary Dr. Roger Luncheon today.

 

The Board will be chaired by former Human Services Minister and Attorney-at-Law, Bibi Shaddick and will include: Margo Boyce, Gerald Gouveia, Major General Rtd. Norman McLean, Dr. Dindyal Permaul, Sherwood Lowe (nominee of the Opposition Leader) and Charles Ramson Jr.

The governing board is statutorily tasked with licensing in the broadcast sector and ensuring compliance among broadcasters with the provisions of the Broadcast Act.
