Former Jamaica Defence Force Chief-of-Staff calls on Home Affairs Minister -to discuss security issues

Georgetown – Minister of Home Affairs, Clement Rohee today received a courtesy call from former Chief-of-Staff of the Jamaica ’s Defence Force, Rear Admiral Hardley Lewin at his Brickdam Office.

According to a Government Information Agency press statement, Minister Rohee described his exchange with the military veteran as ‘useful and engaging.

 “We discussed general security arrangements in the Caribbean and experiences that both countries shared, matters that Guyana has been very active about within CARICOM,” the Home Affairs Minister said.
 He added that such discussions are always important since the security is a dynamic one and there is always something new to be learnt.
Admiral Lewin, who was invited to Guyana by the Rotary Club of Georgetown as part of the annual celebrations to commemorate its anniversary,  said that no particular issue was discussed but rather the apparatus used to deal with the range of security challenges that both countries faces.
