Former Junior Health Minister appointed Minister of Foreign Affairs

Georgetown: After serving four years as Minister within the Ministry of Public Health, Dr Karen Cummings was Thursday morning appointed Minister of Foreign Affairs.

Cummings took the oath of office at the Ministry of the Presidency before President David Granger.

She was appointed to the post following the resignation of Carl Greenidge, who was forced to resign as a Member of Parliament and Minister when the Court of Appeal confirmed a High Court decision that persons with dual citizenship are constitutionally barred from being elected to the National Assembly.
