Former minister says no wage freeze

Bridgetown.

Economist Clyde Mascoll thinks that it would be folly for the Government to contemplate a a wage freeze across the board.

"There is no way that Barbadians at the lower end should be expected to continue on a fixed income and suffer the effects of the rising cost of living, therefore policies have to be designed to ensure that relief is given to those who deserve it", Mascoll told Trakker News

Mascoll charged that the Government had to burrow in excess of $40 million monthly to pay  civil servants.
