Port-of-Spain: A former chairman of the Police Service Commission Senior Counsel Kenneth Lalla says the Police Service Commission is misinformed to believe that it can be exposed to judicial review if it moves to fire the Police Commissioner Dwayne Gibbs.
Lalla says it is simply an issue of whether the commissioner has breached his contract or not.
On Friday at a Joint Seclect Committee of Parliament, members of the Commission had said they Commissioner Gibbs received a poor rating on his performance apparaisal but that they did not move to dismiss him because of the risk of judicial review.
Meanwhile a former member of the Police Service Commission, Adventist Pastor Clive Dottin says it appears that too much is being expected of Commissioner Gibbs in too short a period of time.
He says he was disappointed with what he saw at the sitting of the Joint Select Committee of Parliament last friday.
