Georgetown: All former Presidents of Guyana are expected to meet with President Irfaan Ali on December 15, 2020.
The President made the announcement on Friday while speaking at the launch of the Canada-Guyana Chamber of Commerce at the Arthur Chung Conference Centre.
Ali said there have been no responses to the letters. The intent of the meeting is to allow for the generating and sharing of ideas on moving Guyana forward.
“We will talk about how we see Guyana’s development, different perspectives and then work out a model and framework on how we will engage in the future and how we have continuous contributions,” President Ali said.
The former presidents include Bharrat Jagdeo, Donald Ramotar, Samuel Hinds and David Granger.
Jagdeo served as president from 1999 to 2011; Hinds briefly served as president in 1997; Ramotar served as president from 2011 to 2015 and Granger served from 2015 to 2020.
