The cost of fraud in Barbados is an estimated $560 each year, and president of the Barbados Chamber of Commerce (BCCI) Andy Armstrong, has urged Barbadians to take it seriously.
Armstrong said $560 million amounts to $2000 per Barbadian.He added that the problem is more significant than the general public realizes.
"I think we have to be serious in Barbados,which sometimes is difficult in a small society" stated Armstrong.
According to Armstrong,the people who commit fraud generally tends to be very well liked in the society.
Armstrong, made the comments at a seminar hosted by the BCCI and Areef Ali & Business Associates at the Barbados Hilton over the weekend.
