Port-of-Spain: Mayor of Port-of-Spain, Louis Lee Sing says cricket fans heading to the Queens Park Oval this weekend can expect parking limitations, as the Port-of-Spain City Corporation has effectively banned all vehicular parking at the King George V Park next to the Oval.
Mayor Lee Sing told an environmental conference at the Hyatt Hotel last night, that the decision to ban parking at the park is final.
The West Indies will meet World Cup champions India in a one-off T-20 match on Saturday at the Oval.
However, the Public Transport Services Corporation (PTSC) says it will provide free transportation for anyone going to the Oval this weekend for the game, in response to a ban on parking at the King George V Park.
PTSC says anyone holding a valid ticket for the game on Saturday can board any PTSC bus free of charge, heading to or in the vicinity of the Oval.
The Corporation says it will also be providing a shuttle service free of charge for ticket holders from the Divali Nagar site in Endeavour. Fans will be allowed to park at the site and travel freely to the Oval.
PTSC says the service will begin at 6 am and will also be available for fans leaving the game.
