Mahaicony : Two males are currently hospitalised at the Georgetown Public Hospital after a brawl at an Airy Hall, Mahaicony, Shop during which one of the men discharged a round from an unlicensed handgun.
Enquiries disclosed that about 11pm yesterday Gavin Jackson, 30 years, of Cottage, Mahaicony, ECD, and Matthew Pistano, 32 years, of 111 Miles Mahdia and Princess Street, Georgetown, were at the shop when an argument erupted. Pistano left and returned shortly with a handgun and the duo ventured unto the public road and began to fight. Pistano discharged a round into the air and Jackson stabbed him in the abdomen with an object, further, Pistano bit off Jackson’s nose tip.
During the scuffle the firearm fell on the roadway and was retrieved by a public spirited citizen who subsequently handed over the firearm to the police. Pistano was taken to the Mahaicony Police Station, and was searched by the police who found five additional live rounds on his person. He was subsequently escorted to the GPHC along with Jackson, where they were both treated and admitted, under police guard.
Investigations are in progress.
