Future of technology available at STARR Computer

Georgetown: With the influx of tourists, investors, companies and developmental opportunities as a result of the Oil and Gas sector, technology is set to also rapidly boost Guyana’s economy.

This was disclosed at a recent technology seminar for stakeholders at STARR Computer, Brickdam headquarters, Georgetown.

The international representatives included Elo Touch Regional Sales Director, Carlos Corredor; Informatik Solutions Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and Software Engineer Luis Santiago, and General Manager of Bluestar Inc. Luis Fernando.

According to Elo Touch Director, Carlos Corredor, every 21 seconds, a new Elo touch screen is installed somewhere in the world. The company invented such technology 45 years ago.

“Our product portfolio includes a broad selection of interactive touchscreen displays from 10-70 inches, all-in-one touchscreen computers, OEM touchscreens and touchscreen controllers and touchscreen monitors,” Corredor said.

In Guyana, he said whoever invests in technology will be ahead in their sector while others who ignore, will be left behind.

“We see great opportunities in this country; we see great opportunities in the market that we pretty much manage, there will be an influx of people, of companies that have opportunities that are coming in the near future, with the oil and gas industry and everything that’s part of that ecosystem,” Corredor noted.

He said that everything the company manufactures and is retailed through STARR Computer and will have manufactures support and warranty.

The Regional Director said that the company is large enough to be global, yet focused enough to deliver personalized support.

Meanwhile, CEO of Informatik Solutions and Software Engineer Luis Santiago said industries are changed rapidly and his company will be offering tailored consultancy services through STARR Computer to business owners.

He noted that everything will be automated.
