Gayle signs agreement with the West indies Cricket Board

Former West Indies captain Chris Galye and the West Indies Cricket Board (WICB)  has signed a draffted agreement brokered by the Governments of CARICOM.

However Galye's signature, was accompnied by a side letter of which the contents were not disclosed,the WICB in media release dated March 25 stated.

 "The Board was advised that Mr Chris Gayle signed the CARICOM brokered agreement but with a side letter  from Mr Galye. Prime Minister, The Honourable Dr Ralph Gonsalves, provided a copy of Mr Galye's side letter. The matter was discussed and the Board will respond to the Honourable Prime Minister shortly.

In the CARICOM draffed agreement the WICB and Galye admitted that their shortcomings had contributed to prolonging the impasse between the two parties and was resolved to bring it to an end in a spirit of reconciliation.

 Galye expressed his regret for making a earlier contentious statement which could have been interpreted as bringing the management of West Indies cricket into disrepute.

The hard hitting opening batsman reaffirmed his commitment of support to the players on the team and the team's management.

According to a source one of the caveatsin  Galye's side letter is that he will not be victimzed  for his previous statements.
