Georgetown: Vishnu Doerga of Doerga Business Enterprises has been elected as the new President of the Georgetown Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GCCI). Following the election of the new 21-member Chamber council for 2016/17 on March 24, the election of the new executive occurred on Monday. A release from the GCCI yesterday said that Padma Kunjbeharry of ANSA McAl Trading Limited (Guyana) was elected Senior Vice-President, Nicholas Boyer of National Hardware Limited was elected as Junior Vice-President, Allison Butters-Grant was elected Secretary and Shanti Persaud was elected as Treasurer. The immediate past president is Lance Hinds of The BrainStreet Group.
