Georgetown: Below is a statement issued by the Guyana Gold and Diamond Miners Association (GGDMA).
The GGDMA commends the Guyana Elections Commission and the Chair of the Elections Commission on the smooth execution of the recount of Guyana’s 2020 currently being conducted. The GGDMA commends the professional and peaceful atmosphere that has prevailed. We particularly thank the Chair for all the hard work so far and for her efforts to bring greater transparency to the process.
The GGDMA joins with other private sector bodies in calling on the commission to continue to work towards a speedy and transparent process that will bring closure to this process. We urge all parties involved, not to derail the process and to stick only to the legal avenues available and not interfere with delaying the process.
