Georgetown : With word spreading of the massive investments, creation of jobs and actually everything under one roof, the “Giftland Mall” has now begun to be the talk of the town. The Mall concept is to create a living space for all Guyanese and Visitors alike to have a safe and secured place for leisure activity.
The Mall has been designed with large open air conditioned walkways, totaling over
50,000 sq ft, which are inter spaced with Kiosk of different varieties, aquariums, sunlit high ceilings, landscaped decor, sitting sofas etc.
The Mall will be a one stop for all with over 130 different vendors, food and entertainment which includes eight Cinemas, 12 Lane Bowling Ally/ Pools Hall, Video Arcade, and over 25 different eating choices, opening until late in the evening 7 days a week.
The Mall has 6 escalators and 4 elevators and is fully disable compliant, attention has also been placed on security and fire exists. The Mall will be run with a 5.4 MW, American made and installed Power Plant which will give ample redundancy to its 3 MW requirement and has its own deep water Well, supplying purified pressurized water , additionally there will be 20 chilled water fountains placed along the Mall offering free drinking water to consumers.
The other major addition to Guyanese entertainment will be a 500-seat food court done in an open air courtyard setting which will offer a variety of local and international cuisine in addition to franchises. This area will not only be for dining but also an entertainment hot-spot and tourist attraction similar to the St Lawrence Gap in Barbados, Rodney Bay in St Lucia or even South Beach in Miami. Local live entertainment, ranging from poetry recital and drama to live music and plays, would be the feature of this area daily and nightly. The intention and concept behind the food court/entertainment area is more one of cultural enrichment and enhancement rather than just retailing, and as such the design, landscaping and layout will reflect this.
