Georgetown: Finance Minister Dr. Ashni Singh says there are glaring evidence of the potential impact of the budget cuts on citizens, pointing to the proposed increase of the electricity tariff.
Dr. Singh was referring to a newspaper article where opposition leader David Granger suggested that there is no impact of the budget cuts.
Dr. Singh notes that the country needs to rapidly harness the hydro power project, which government will soon accomplish.
The budget cut by the combined opposition is affecting key projects such as the expansion of the Cheddi Jagan International Airport, the Speciality Hospital, the Amaila Falls and Amerindian development projects.
