Georgetown: The Region Three Chambers of Commerce and Industry (R3CCI) has welcomed the appointment of the new Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Guyana Office for Investment (Go-Invest) underscoring the strategic leadership needed for the agency.

The Board of Directors of Go-Invest appointed well-known Economist, Dr. Peter Ramsaroop, as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the agency.
Dr. Ramsaroop, who is a seasoned senior executive with significant experience in business, economics and politics, replaced Owen Verwey as head of the agency.
Region Three Chamber President Halim Khan said investment is an important factor in the development of the national economy.
“Mr. Peter Ramsaroop is a successful strategic leader with strong investment experience, in-depth knowledge of Guyana global business market, and deep understanding of the country’s public and private spheres—all of which are critical for the leadership of the agency,” Khan underscored.
He continued: “He will be a passionate advocate for Guyana’s international business sector, and we look forward to working with him as R3CCI continues to be the confident and proactive voice for the business sector in Region three and a driving force for business success and national socioeconomic growth.”
The Chambers, Khan said looks forward to Ramsaroop’s results-driven strategies that will add value to the Go-Invest agency which will strengthen Guyana’s economy and enhance the country’s standing in the global business community.

“R3CCI looks forward to meeting with Mr. Ramsaroop and discussing projects aimed at development of inter-sectoral cooperation among representatives of the business community in region Three and increasing the investment attractiveness of the region,” the Chambers President said.
Adding that economic growth is essential to reducing poverty and improving citizens’ living standards, Khan with the promotion of exports and foreign investment, Guyana can expand income and employment.
