Bridgetown.
The Government of Barbados will be paying greater attention to improving the business environment on the island in an attempt to reduce unemployment.
This assurance was given by newly appointed Minister of International Business, Commerce and Small Busuness Development Donville Inniss, who told Trakker News his aim is to create "Barbados Incorporated".
Inniss stated that he had not met with the private sector to discuss their concerns but was aware of areas that must be addressed urgently.
He added that the International Business sector was critical to the island economic sector.
"While efforts will continue to attract more international businesses, we will also facilitate the expansion of companies that are already operating here", says Inniss.
The Minister said the ministries under his portfolio were critical for the diversification of the economy, foreign exchange and job creation.
