Georgetown : The Government has given its firm commitment to assist the people of the Island of Dominica, in whatever way necessary. Dominica has been has severely affected by Tropical Storm Erika.
This commitment was made in the National Assembly by First Vice President and Prime Minister Moses Nagamootoo. The Prime Minister is the Head of Government Business in the House.
In his brief remarks, the Prime Minister explained that, “The Government and people of Guyana are today in solidarity with the people of Dominica and we avail ourselves as a Government and a people, to render whatever assistance we could to the Government and people of Dominica at this time of their distress.”
The Prime Minister reminded the House that Guyanese can understand what those in Dominca are going through at the moment, referring to the two recent flash floods experienced right here at home.
